Girls Weekend Camp
Camp Scherman is the perfect place to have fun and strengthen the bond with the special girl in your life - bring your mom, grandma, aunt, or any other special lady. Camps are dependent upon current COVID conditions and guidance from CDC and therefore subject to change, including but not limited to a shift to virtual instead of in-person, rescheduling, or cancellation. Current camp requirements include:
- Due to the high transmission of Covid-19, all campers, regardless of their vaccination status will need to provide proof of a negative COVID test. If taking a PCR test, it must be taken within 72 hours of the campers first day. The at home rapid test can be taken within 24 hours of the campers scheduled first day at camp. You can bring the test showing your negative result or a photo of the negative result. Both should include name of the individual taking the test and the date of the test.
- Mask wearing is optional and up to personal choice at this time
- Cabin occupants may be limited to one pod (household or troop)
This event accepts Cookie Dough, OC Bucks, and Juliette Dollars! Girls must complete online registration and pay the deposit. Next fill out the Reimbursement form It must be submitted prior to attending camp.
Due to California legislation, all volunteers attending weekends camps must complete the online child abuse identification and reporting training and a fingerprint-based background check. Please email customercare@girlscoutsoc.org if you have not already completed this process
California Assembly Bill No. 506 requires 1) any administrator, employee, or regular volunteer (those who volunteer more than 16 hours in a month or 32 hours in a year) of a California youth service organization to complete training in identifying and reporting child abuse and neglect, and 2) require California youth-serving organizations to include fingerprinting as part of its background screening.
If you are coming to weekend camp as a parent/guardian and girl pair and are not supervising girls who are not related to you, you may not meet the requirement for fingerprinting and Mandated Reporter training.
