DESCRIPTION: \n GS Advocates: Youth Advocacy Certificate Series 2027 \n  \n   \n  \n  \n Level: Cadettes-Ambassadors \n  \n  \n Event Location: Hybrid \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n GS Advocates is a vibrant and inclusive alliance for teenage Girl Scouts passionate about:  \n  \n  \n  \n 	Advocacy and community engagement. \n 	Tackling critical community issues. \n 	Developing media literacy. \n 	Building resilience. \n 	Celebrating diversity and inclusion. \n  \n  \n Our mission is to empower young women to make a real difference while ensuring every member feels valued and heard. \n  \n  \n What You&#39;ll Gain \n  \n  \n Through GS Advocates, participants can: \n  \n  \n  \n 	Earn a Youth Certification in leadership, advocacy, and other essential skills. \n 	Bild advocacy skills over time through hands-on experiences. \n 	Enjoy quarterly field trips to deepen understanding of issues and connect with peers. \n 	Access resources and recordings in our Learning Library. \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n Program Format \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n Monthly Zoom Meetings: \n  \n  \n  \n 	First Monday of each month, 5:30 PM-6:30 PM. \n  \n  \n Quarterly In-Person Outings: \n  \n  \n  \n 	Fun, engaging, and community-focused. \n  \n  \n One-Time Registration: covers the entire series (both virtual and in-person components). \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n Important Registration Notes:  \n  \n  \n  \n 	If you register after 3:00 PM on the day of the event, you will receive a link for the next month&#39;s meeting. \n 	If you register mid-year, you will receive access to the Learning Library with all past session recordings and resources. \n  \n  \n Programming &amp; Schedule \n  \n  \n Theme: Your Personal Brand - Exploring how to define your brand identity to better communicate who you are, what you offer, and why it matters, while helping Girl Scouts build advocacy, civic engagement, and career awareness skills. Topics include leadership, communication, networking, confidence, career reediness, and media literacy. \n  \n  \n Upcoming Dates: \n  \n  \n  \n 	October 5th: This month&#39;s guest is out very own CEO of Girl Scouts of Orange County, Dr. Vikki Shepp. In our discussion, we will be talking about Dr. Shepp&#39;s Journey to her current role as a CEO and the changes she&#39;s had to make in her career along the way. \n 	November 3rd: Guest speaker TBD \n 	December 7th: Guest speaker TBD \n  \n  \n Cost: \n  \n  \n GSOC Member: $10 \n  \n  \n Our of Council Member: $15 \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n **This is a drop-off event. Adults have the option to participate (please see registration for pricing) or supervise for free.
