Troop Tent Camping & Outdoor Cooking Training (O'Neill Park, 01/18/20)
Join for a great day of outdoor training and come ready to eat, as you'll make lunch as part of the class!
Adult Learning (Training) is required for at least one (1) adult registered Volunteer per troop accompanying girls camping, where the girls will be pitching tents and setting up campsites.
**Location: Let the gate attendant know that you are there for the "Girl Scout Training" for FREE parking. The training will be held at "SHELTER 4 (BEFORE the CREEK CROSSING)."

2. Troop Tent Camping Online Pre-Course
3. Outdoor Cooking Pre-Course

The Girl Scout Troop Tent Camping & Outdoor Cooking Training is a great opportunity for adult volunteers who love getting outdoors!
By the end of Troop Tent Camping Training, you will be able to:
- Confidently sleep in tents or open shelters
- Discover safety wise-approved public and private campgrounds
- Learn about Troop camp at Camp Sherman and service unit/community campouts
By the end of Outdoor Cooking Training, you will be able to:
- Plan with Girl-Led activities
- Prepare outdoor meals using charcoal fires, Dutch ovens, propane stoves, buddy burners, and box ovens
- Supervise girls using charcoal and wood-burning fires
- Cook in parks and program centers for day trips and picnics
Courtesy: In order to create an effective learning environment for all, our volunteer trainers are unable to accommodate children at this training. Additionally, arriving more than 20 minutes after the start of training may cause you to forfeit credit for this adult learning opportunity. You must attend the whole 6 hours to get credit. Please plan accordingly.
