GSOC’s volunteer STEM Patrol will be hosting a two-part model rocket engineering program including a build led by engineers in the aerospace industry, plus a launch at STARBASE Los Alamitos located at the Joint Forces Training Base.
All Girl Scout participants will receive a model rocket kit (Select either shipping or pick up in Irvine or Yorba Linda during registration).
Wednesday, January 25th: Build your Model Rocket with Engineers
Connect virtually on Zoom as you Discover the dynamics of rocketry with engineers and build your own model rocket at home. Engineers will show girls how to build their rockets, talk about the rocket launch process, and discuss the science behind rocket flight.
Saturday, February 4th: Blast Off! Model Rocket Launch at STARBASE
Pack a lunch and join us for a rocket launch at the Joint Forces Training Base in Los Alamitos! Girl Scouts and their families will cheer each other on during this exciting launch.
NOTE: The rocket launch is wind and weather permitting and will not be rescheduled in the event of cancellation.
Detailed instructions will be provided to registrants prior to the program. Families are encouraged to enjoy this program together.
This event accepts GSOC Cookie Dough, GSOC Bucks, and GSOC Juliette Dollars! Girls must complete online registration and pay in full. Next fill out the Reimbursement form prior to participating in the event.
