November Hike: Bell Canyon Loop

Location: San Juan Capistrano, CA

Trail Level: Moderate

Distance: 4.7 miles

Elevation: 400 feet

This lollipop loop trail connects to five trails in Caspers Wilderness Park: Bell Canyon Trail, Oso Trail, Cougar Pass, East Ridge Trail, and Sunrise Trail.

*Please note that this is a self-guided, family hike (not a troop event).

Parking:

Enter through the park entrance (there is only one entrance) at 33401 Ortega Hwy, San Juan Capistrano 92675. The entrance fee is $5 per car, cash or card. 
Drive straight out of the park entrance, then continue all the way down the road (do not turn left toward the nature center) until the road ends. You will pass 
campgrounds and an equestrian center. At the end of the road, you will see a metal gate. Park in any of the lots near it.

• 1-2 liters of water per person
• Snacks
• Sunscreen
• Hat with brim
• Hiking shoes or lace-up sneakers

This activity is free.

Optional Patch purchase is $6.00. Price includes the patch, shipping and Handling. Patches will be shipped 2 weeks after the event ends. 

How to Get Your Patch:

Take a photo of you with the Bell Canyon Trail Sign in the background! Upload it to Bell Canyon. Only Girl Scouts who have registered for the Bell Canyon hike and who are in the photo will receive a patch.

**This is not a drop-off event. Girl Scouts must attend with a registered adult troop leader or another designated responsible adult. Adults must register and attend to maintain required ratios. Family guests are welcome, and all attendees must be registered.
